from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lars Grunske (born March 15, 1976 in Zehdenick ) is a German computer scientist and professor of software technology at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Life

Grunske studied technical computer science and graduated in 1999 with a degree in engineering. Until 2003 he studied computer science (with a focus on software technology) at the TU Berlin . In 2004 he received his doctorate in computer science at the Hasso Plattner Institute under Peter Liggesmeyer on the subject of architecture optimization. From 2004 to 2007 he was a Boeing Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Queensland , Australia, and finally until 2010 a lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology , Australia. In 2010 he was appointed junior professor at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern . Two years later he became professor for reliable software systems at the University of Stuttgart . In 2015 he was appointed professor for software engineering in the computer science department at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Since 2018 Prof. Grunske has been the spokesman for the advisory board for university professors at the Society for Computer Science .

Research focus and scientific contributions (selection)

Lars Grunske is seen internationally as one of the leading software technology researchers and is especially known as an expert in the field of automated software development. His research focus is in particular the design and analysis of safety-critical applications. Particularly noteworthy are the scientific contributions to the formalization of requirements (e.g. with probabilistic specification patterns and behavior trees ) and in automated architecture design.
