Lars Jungnickel (born August 31, 1981 in Dohna ) is a German football player and coach .

Career

Lars Jungnickel grew up in Geising in the Eastern Ore Mountains and gained his first soccer experience at SG Geising . Via VfB Zittau , he moved to the youth department of Dynamo Dresden , where he made his competitive debut for the first team in the 1999/2000 season .

After two years as a regular in Dresden, Jungnickel switched to Energie Cottbus in the summer of 2001 . There he played a total of 27 Bundesliga games in six seasons and scored two goals and 52 second division games with five goals. In addition, he was often used for the second team in the NOFV Oberliga. At the end of the 2006/07 season , his contract with Energie Cottbus was not renewed.

Jungnickel then signed a contract with his former club Dynamo Dresden on June 20, 2007, with which he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season . The trained striker played in the Dresden team mostly in the central midfield or as a right full-back. After several injuries, he was transferred to the second team during the 2012/13 winter break. Jungnickel postponed his end of career, which was planned for the end of the 2012/2013 season, and instead became assistant coach of the second team at Dynamo Dresden.
