Lars Wackernagel

Lars Wackernagel (born August 9, 1975 in Gera ) is a sports director in cycling and a former German cyclist .

Career

In 1997 Lars Wackernagel started for the Cologne team SG EC / Bayer Worringen . After moving to Hohenfelder-Concorde, he interrupted his career for a year. The former bicycle courier then drove for the Munich GS III team LTA Quatro Logistics, in whose service he took 13th place in the overall ranking at the Bayern Tour .

In 2003 Wackernagel joined the Leipzig team Wiesenhof . After he distinguished himself in one-day races and tours alongside his team captains Jens Heppner and Enrico Poitschke , he was in almost all the jerseys on the Saxony Tour . As the best sprinter and best climber, he also wore the yellow jersey and finished the tour in fourth overall.

In 2004, Lars Wackernagel won the first stage of the Peace Tour in Brussels and wore the yellow jersey of the front runner for three days. He celebrated another victory at the Neuseen Classics . At the end of the 2010 season, Wackernagel announced his retirement from active cycling.

In 2011, Lars Wackernagel became the sporting director of the German UCI Continental Team NSP ,
