Lashana Lynch (born November 27, 1987 in London , England ) is a British actress .

life and career

Lashana Lynch, who has Jamaican roots, is from London and was already into show business in her youth. She took part as a singer / songwriter in a number of British singing shows, such as Urban Voice , in which she reached the final in 2001, and a year later in UK Unsigned , which she won.

However, she later decided to pursue an acting career and was first seen in a guest role in the series The Bill in 2007 . After a few years, she took on the role of Belle Newman in the movie Fast Girls in 2011 . For the role of the athlete, she trained up to four hours a day in preparation for the project. Other film roles followed in Powder Room and Brotherhood .

Guest roles took Lynch so far in series such as Silent Witness , The 7:39 , Atlantis , Death in Paradise and Doctors . In 2015 she appeared as Gemma in the comedy series Crims . In 2017 she played a leading role as Rosaline Capulet in the short-lived series Still Star-Crossed . In 2019 she took on the role of Maria Rambeau , an Air Force pilot, in the film adaptation of Captain Marvel , as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe . The character should initially be embodied by her colleague DeWanda Wise , but she is not available for the project due to scheduling difficulties.

In 2020 she will take on a role as Nomi in the James Bond film No Time to Die .
