Lasse Vigen Christensen (born August 15, 1994 in Esbjerg ) is a Danish football player . He plays for Brøndby IF and is a young Danish national player.

Career

Christensen started playing football at Esbjerg fB and joined the youth team at FC Midtjylland in 2010 . After two years he moved to the Academy of Fulham FC in England . After various appearances in the U21 eleven, he played for the first time with the professional team on January 4, 2014 at 1-1 in the third round of the FA Cup at Norwich City . This rose from the Premier League at the end of the 2013/14 season. On October 1, he scored his first goal in the league game in a 4-0 win on Matchday 10 against Bolton Wanderers . This season he came to a total of 25 missions and five goals. He was denied further missions due to a thigh injury. One season later, Christensen played 27 games (one goal) and made 16 appearances in the 2016/17 season.

In July 2017 Christensen returned to Denmark and joined Brøndby IF . He signed a four-year contract.

National team

Christensen completed seven missions for the Danish U16 national team and took part with the U17 in the 2011 European Championship in Serbia . He came to four missions and reached the semi-finals with the team, in which they were eliminated against Germany . By participating in the semi-finals, Christensen and his team qualified for the World Cup in Mexico , where the Danish U17s were eliminated after the preliminary round. His last game for this age group was the 1-1 in the last group game on June 27, 2011 against Australia. Christensen made 24 appearances for the U17s and scored two goals.

In the following years Christensen had played eight times for the U18 team and for the Danish U19 , before he made his debut for the U21s on August 14, 2013 in a friendly in Dungannon against Northern Ireland . He qualified with the Danish U21 national team for both the 2015 European Championship in the Czech Republic and the 2017 finals in Poland and was part of the Danish squad at both tournaments. Christensen was used in all games both at the European Championship finals in Poland, where the Danish team reached the semi-finals, and at the European Championship in the Czech Republic, where the selection was eliminated after the group stage. The 4-2 win in the last group game at the U21 European Championship in Poland against the Czech Republic was the last game for this age group after 38 games (five goals).
