Laura Spinney

Laura Spinney (born August 19, 1971 in Great Britain ) is a British writer and science journalist .

Spinney has published for The Times , National Geographic , The Economist , Nature , New Scientist, and The Daily Telegraph . She has written two novels, The Doctor (2001) and The Quick (2007). Her third book, Rue Centrale , was published in 2013 in French and English. In her book 1918 - The World in Fever , she analyzes the impact of the Spanish flu on society. In 1996 she received the Margaret Rhondda Award for Journalism. She lives in Paris .
