Dick and Doof as Burglars is an American short film comedy by the comedian duo Laurel & Hardy . The film had its US theatrical release on January 4, 1930, German theatrical first broadcast was in the 70s.

action

The police chief is furious about the many break-ins lately and accuses officer Kelley of incompetence. To convince the boss that he is up to his responsibility, Kelley hires Stan and Ollie, two tramps, as burglars. They are supposed to break into the police chief, while he would then have his reputation again as a "brave police officer". A lot of turbulent things happen during this highlight, starting with crossing the garden wall. Due to Stan's inability, the two lock themselves out again and again after successfully penetrating the house and have to start over. In the end, they both get to the electric piano, which then plays aloud by itself. Woken up by the noise, the police chief and his butler storm Meadows into the living room. Stan and Ollie escape in time, while Kelley bursts into the house at just the wrong moment, giving the impression that he is behind the break-in.
