Lauren Marie Stuhlmann (born August 14, 1983 in Stevens Point , Wisconsin , United States ) is a Canadian soccer player .

Career

Stuhlmann played for Notre Dame Academy and the Purdue Boilermakers in her youth and while studying . In 2009 she played for Sky Blue FC before moving to Atlanta Beat in 2010 . In 2010 she became a citizen of Canada because her father is a native of Newfoundland . Since 2011 she has represented the national team of Canada . With this she won gold at the Pan American Games in 2011 and bronze at the Summer Olympics the following year .

In the 2013 season she played in the newly founded National Women's Soccer League , the highest American professional league in women's football, for FC Kansas City . The following season she moved to league rivals Houston Dash , but fell out of this due to an injury suffered in the pre-season. After only one league assignment for Houston, she left them before the 2016 season.

In 2015 she was appointed to the squad for the World Cup in her own country .
