Laurence Bennett

Laurence Bennett (born before 1986) is an American production designer who has been involved in around 40 film and television productions since his career began in the mid-1980s.

Life

Bennett studied art at Occidental College in Los Angeles and Waseda University in Tokyo. When he was around 20, he moved to Ireland for ten years and worked in fringe theaters and later lectured at the National College of Art and Design . He moved back to Los Angeles in the early 1980s. At the 2012 Academy Awards , he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Production Design category for his work on The Artist together with Robert Gould . Bennett and Gould were also nominated for a British Academy Film Award in the category Best Production Design for this film in 2012 , as well as other nominations.

He lived in Clackamas County , Oregon, with his wife, production designer Nina Bradford .
