Robert Gould is a production designer .

Life

Gould began his television career in 1973, where he worked on the American television series Petrocelli , among other things . His first feature films included the independent film Mister Universum , one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's early works . With Brian De Palma's Stephen King film adaptation Carrie - Satan's youngest daughter , he first worked on a major Hollywood production in 1976 . This was followed by numerous others, such as Walter Hills The Last Americans and When the Postman Rings Twice . In the 1980s he worked on several successful action films , including with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone .

For Peter Weir's Master & Commander - To the End of the World , he and William Sandell were nominated for the first time for an Oscar in the category Best Production Design in 2004. A second nomination came in 2012 , along with Laurence Bennett for The Artist .
