Laurent Favre (2017)

Laurent Favre (born October 14, 1972 in Fleurier ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ). Since November 2014 he has been a member of the State Council of the Canton of Neuchâtel.

Business activity

From 2000 to 2012 this FH agricultural engineer was head of the CNAV, the Neuchâtel Chamber of Agriculture and Viticulture. Favre is also President of the Swiss Wine Growers Association (2009-2014).

Political activity

Favre was politically active in the municipality of Fleurier from 2004 to 2008. As a member of the Neuchâtel cantonal parliament (2005–2007), he was elected to the National Council in the 2007 Swiss parliamentary elections. At the beginning of November 2014 he resigned from his position as National Councilor, as he was elected to the Neuchâtel State Council on September 28 of the same year with more than 67% of the votes. He leads the Directorate for Spatial Development and Environment.

Favre lives in Corcelles-Cormondrèche .
