Lawrence Pullen Hardman SMM (born December 8, 1909 in Bolton , Great Britain , † March 24, 1996 ) was Bishop of Zomba .

Life

Lawrence Pullen Hardman joined the Congregation of Montfortains at and received on 12 March 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 15, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Attanasus and ordered him for the first Apostolic Vicar of Zomba. The Vicar Apostolic of Shiré , John Baptist Hubert Theunissen SMM, donated him episcopal ordination on September 7th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the retired Vicar Apostolic of Shiré, Louis-Joseph-Marie Auneau SMM, and the retired Vicar Apostolic of Nyassa , Joseph Oscar Julien MAfr .

On April 25, 1959, Lawrence Pullen Hardman became the first bishop of Zomba as a result of the elevation of the Vicariate Apostolic Zomba to the diocese . Hardman resigned as Bishop of Zomba on September 21, 1970. Thereupon Pope Paul VI appointed him . titular Bishop of Cenculiana . On April 6, 1971, Lawrence Pullen Hardman renounced the titular diocese of Cenculiana.

Lawrence Pullen Hardman attended the first and second sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
