Leki is spoken mainly in Lekistan, an area that includes parts of the Iranian provinces of Lorestan , Hamadan and Kermanshah . The Leki is presumably spoken by more than 1.5 million people who are often mistaken for Lurs because of their nomadic way of life .
Dialects
The following dialects are summarized under the name Leki:
- Biraneveni : Spoken in northern Lorestan .
- Silaxuri : Spoken in the Silaxuri area of the same name, south of Hamadan , Malayer and Nahavand .
- Sheikh bizinî : Spoken in Turkey by a small group in Ankara , Haymana , Adana , Amasya , Merzifon and Erzurum .
- Feylî : Spoken by mostly Shiite Kurds in southeast Kurdistan , cities like Mandali , Pahla , Bedra , Ilam , and in Chuzestan and Lorestan . ( Faili Kurds )
