The Leki Lenhart GmbH (proper spelling LEKI ) is a German company that specializes in the production of sports equipment. The company is based in Kirchheim unter Teck in Baden-Württemberg . The company is 100% owned by SCHE 13 Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH.

history

Today's producer of sporting goods emerged from the wood processing company founded in 1948 in Dettingen unter Teck by Karl Lenhart, who produced logos from wood for various trades. Then the owner switched the production range to handles and snow plates for ski poles ; the production went into series production in the 1960s. He later made ski poles from aluminum and composite materials and began selling them under the brand name Leki in 1970 . Klaus Lenhart (born May 1, 1955; † April 30, 2012), the youngest son of the founder, was appointed to the management team at the age of 19. From 1984 Klaus Lenhart (initially together with his wife) held sole management. After Klaus Lenhart's fatal accident (see below), his wife Waltraud Lenhart took over the management in the summer of 2012. In addition to ski, cross-country and telescopic trekking poles , accessories for ski races, gloves and Nordic walking poles are also on offer. In 1993 the production of cross-country poles began. In the same year, the new production facility in Tachov in the Czech Republic went into operation. According to its own information, this is the world's largest ski pole production facility. Production in Germany was given up. In 1997 the name was changed to Leki Lenhart GmbH . The name Leki stands for Le nhart in Ki rchheim. In 2010 the company achieved sales of 40 million euros .
