Leda Lúcia Martins Camargo (* 1946 in Porto Alegre ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Leda Lúcia Martins Camargo studied law at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul , the Hague Academy of International Law and the University of Paris . She held the chair of sociology at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris . In 1977 she joined the foreign service and was employed in New Delhi . From 1980 to 1983, she was the Second Class Legation Secretary in Washington, DC From 1983 to 1987, she was the First Class Legation Secretary in Buenos Aires . From 1991 to 1995 she was first class delegate in Rome . From 1995 to 1997 she was Deputy General Consul in Santiago de Chile . From 2000 to 2004 she was envoy to the European Union in Brussels . From 2004 to 2008 she was ambassador to Maputo . In this function, she was committed to free access for dogs in Mozambican shopping centers. From 2008 to 2011 she was ambassador in Prague . She has been an ambassador in Stockholm since 2011 .

She was awarded the Argentine Order de Mayo , as Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic , as Commander of the Order of Merit of the Brazilian Armed Forces and with a Grand Cross of the Rio Branco Order .
