Lee Rich
Lee Rich (born December 19, 1918 in Cleveland , † May 24, 2012 in Los Angeles ) was an American film and television producer.
Life
After graduating from Ohio University , Rich worked in the advertising industry. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Rich co-founded and later president of Lorimar Productions in 1969. The television series The Waltons was produced with his collaboration . Another well-known series was Dallas , which Lee himself was executive producer from 1978 to 1980. In 1986 Lee left Lorimar Productions and became the chairman of MGM / UA. In July 1988, Rich left. With Lee Rich Productions he founded his own company that same year.
Rich was awarded an Emmy in 1973 for the production of the series The Waltons .
Rich was married to actress Pippa Scott and had five children.
