Pippa Scott (born November 10, 1935 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress .

life and career

Pippa Scott was born to screenwriter Allan Scott and actress Laura Straub. She studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London , but then returned to the United States on Broadway . She received a Theater World Award for her Broadway debut in Child of Fortune . Scott was then signed to Warner Brothers in Hollywood . She made her film debut in 1956 in John Ford's western classic The Black Falcon , where she is murdered by Indians in the role of John Wayne's niece. Three years later she starred alongside Rosalind Russell in an important supporting role in the comedy The Great Aunt . In 1962 she got a leading role as magazine reporter Molly Woodvon in the television series The People at Shiloh Ranch , but Scott left the series after just one season. Scott's last significant film roles included Richard Lester's drama Petulia '(1968) and the comedy The $ 25 Million Prize (1971), where she played the wife of Dick Van Dyke in the female lead .

After she had most recently played guest roles on television, Scott initially retired from the acting business in the 1980s. In the recent past, however, she has appeared again in two independent films . As a film producer, Scott has also been involved in several smaller documentaries. From 1964 until their divorce in 1983, Scott was married to producer Lee Rich . She has two children.
