Lefty Dizz
Lefty Dizz (* 29. April 1937 in Osceola , Arkansas as Walter Williams , † 7. September 1993 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American Chicago blues - guitarist and singer .
He became known with his band Shock Treatment and through his work with Junior Wells , JB Lenoir and Hound Dog Taylor . Lefty Dizz used a right-handed Fender Stratocaster , which, like Jimi Hendrix later, he simply turned over, which earned him the nickname "Lefty". Dizz's guitar sound was reminiscent of Dizzy Gillespie's trumpet play , according to Hound Dog Taylor . He died of esophageal cancer.
