Legerwood is a village in the Scottish Council Area Scottish Borders or in the traditional county of Berwickshire . It is located around seven kilometers southeast of Lauder and 15 kilometers northwest of Kelso on Ledgerwood Burn , which flows into Leader Water to the west.
history
The earliest mention of a church on the site dates back to 1127. Most of today's Legerwood Parish Church is believed to be from this construction phase.
The Legerwood area once housed three Peel Towers , Corsbie Tower , Whitslaid Tower and Morriston Tower .

Located in a sparsely populated region, Legerwood is not directly connected to the trunk road network. Within a few kilometers, however, the A68 ( Darlington - Edinburgh ) can be reached in the west, the A697 ( Morpeth - Oxton ) in the north, the A6089 in the east and the A6105 in the south .
