Lego Batman: The Video Game is a computer game by Traveller's Tales . It was released in Europe on October 10, 2008 for PlayStation 3 , Wii , Xbox 360 , PlayStation 2 , Nintendo DS , PlayStation Portable and Microsoft Windows . The game is comparable to the Lego Star Wars series, as in both games the figures, objects and the entire environmentconsistsof Lego bricks . Warner Bros. Entertainment is responsiblefor marketing the game.

The player accompanies Batman and Robin in the fight against their most dangerous opponents Joker, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze and many others, all of whom have broken out of Arkham Asylum to wreak havoc in Gotham City . The game is divided into three sections, each dealing with one of the three groups of villains. In each section, the player controls Batman and Robin, who fight their way through hordes of henchmen and solve puzzles to finally catch the bad guys, destroy their plans and bring them back to Arkham. Batman and Robin manage to bring all the bad guys back to the psychiatric ward. As a sign that Gotham City is now safe from the bad guys again, the bat signal appears in the sky over the city.
Gameplay
The gameplay is comparable to Lego Star Wars II . The player can use various vehicles with the character and thus move and fight faster than on foot. As vehicles are u. A. The Batmobile, Batwing and the Batboat are available.
As in the previous Lego games ( Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones ), a level is unlocked in "Free Play" mode when it has been played through in story mode. The "Free Play" mode allows you to repeat the available levels with each of the unlocked characters and thus to get to previously inaccessible places in order to collect special extras that are impossible to achieve in story mode.
There are 30 levels in the game, 15 of which are to be played with the hero and the other 15 with a villain, and there are also various bonus levels that are unlocked during the course of the game. The headquarters of the heroes is the Batcave, the residence of Batman. The villains mostly use Arkham Asylum, a psychiatric hospital where many of Batman's enemies were imprisoned, as their headquarters.
