The East Timorese municipality of Ermera

Leimea ( Leimiam , Limian , Lei-Mean ) is a region in the East Timorese municipality of Ermera . Today it is divided into the Sucos Leimea-Craic (Unter-Leimea) and Leimea-Sarinbalo in the administrative office of Hatulia and Leimea Leten ("Ober-Leimea") in the administrative office of Atsabe .

In the 18th century Leimea participated in the Cailaco rebellion against the Portuguese colonial power. Governor Afonso de Castro lists Leimea in 1868 as the traditional empire of a liurai . In 1860 he assigned the area to the military command of Cailaco , in 1883 it came to 3º Comando militar de Maubara by Governor Bento da França Pinto de Oliveira .
