Leisnitz is a settlement in the Potschappel district of the Saxon major district town of Freital in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .
geography
Leisnitz is located in the northeast of the Freital city area. Birkigt borders in the east and Burgk in the south . Potschappel is adjacent to the north and west.
history
The village of Leisnitz was mentioned in a document in 1520. In 1551 the manor Pesterwitz exercised the manorial rule . The administrative affiliation was in 1816 with the Dresden office , in 1875 the place belonged to the Dresden administrative authority . Leisnitz gave up its independence in 1838 and became a district of Potschappels. When in 1921 Potschappel merged with Döhlen and Deuben to form the town of Freital, Leisnitz was not a separate district of the new town, but remained assigned to Potschappel and still exists as the name of the street “Leisnitz”. In 1931 local construction companies built several single-storey single-family houses on Leisnitzer Flur (formerly Kirschberg) in order to combat the housing shortage in the valley. In the years up to 1935, additional residential buildings were built, which form today's Leisnitz settlement.
