The Lenin Stadium ( Russian Стадион имени Ленина , imeni Lenina stadium ) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in the Russian city ​​of Khabarovsk , in the east of the country. The plant was in a park on the banks of the great river Amur built. It is the home ground of the SKA-Energija Khabarovsk football club . The almost uncovered stands offer 15,200 seats.

history

The stadium was built in 1956 by order of Marshal Rodion Jakowlewitsch Malinowski . It received the name of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin . With a view to the Bandy World Cup in 1981 , the facility was renovated for the first time in 1979. At that time, the Lenin Stadium had 22,000 seats. On November 20, 1982 there was an accident in the stadium during an ice hockey game , in which 18 people died. In the filled stadium, more spectators pushed and climbed u. a. over the security fences, which led to the disaster. Every year fans meet in the east stand of the stadium to commemorate.

In August 2002 the playing field was equipped with artificial turf . The next major renovations took place in 2003. The stadium was adapted to the requirements of the league. The old wooden benches were removed from the stands and replaced with red and blue plastic seats, the club colors of the SKA-Energija Khabarovsk. The installation of the seats reduced the available space to 15,200. The artificial turf was underlaid with turf heating . A new public address system was installed in 2008. In 2015 a new electronic scoreboard was added. With the promotion to the Premjer League in 2017/18 , further work was carried out on the venue. The spectator entrances were equipped with turnstiles and the spotlights on all four masts of the floodlight system were replaced. Furthermore, the playing field got a new artificial green. New coach and replacement benches were set up and the press stand renovated.
