Lenka Pichlíková-Burke (born July 28, 1954 in Prague ) is a Czech actress who has lived in the United States since 1982 .

Life

She was born as the daughter of Karel Pichlík and Anna Hodková, b. Málková was born. In 1977, Lenka Pichlíková graduated from the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague . She was a member of the Jiří Wolker Theater Company in Prague , where she played at the age of nine. She then worked at the Theater am Geländer , the Činoherní club and the Theater in der Weinbergen in Prague and was a guest artist at the National Theater in Prague . During her career in Czechoslovakia she starred in over 40 television films and in 12 feature films. She starred in films by Karel Kachyňa ( Meeting in July ) and Otakar Vávra ( Dark Sun ) , among others .

In 1982 she came to the United States where she performed in theater. Her roles included Masha in Chekhov's The Seagull (Theater West, Fort Worth , Texas) and Yelena in Uncle Vanya . She then studied with Marcel Marceau in the USA and worked as a pantomime in Mexico , France , Texas , New York and Connecticut . In 2006 she wrote and played the one-person drama Three Women of Faith , based on the life of Hildegard von Bingen .

She is married to Marcus B. Burke and has two sons with him.
