Lenta is a municipality with 813 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian province of Vercelli (VC), Piedmont region .

The neighboring municipalities are Carpignano Sesia , Gattinara , Ghemme , Ghislarengo and Rovasenda .

The municipality covers an area of ​​19 km² .

About three kilometers west of the town of Lenta there is a large military depot ( ) in a forest , in which several thousand armored vehicles, battle tanks, self-propelled howitzers and the like were parked after the end of the Cold War and then only very slowly disposed of or sold. The depot is considered to be the largest "tank cemetery" in Italy.
