Leonardo "Leo" Fernández (born April 13, 1973 ) is a professional Argentine poker player .

Personal

Fernández comes from Buenos Aires . He learned chess at the age of five . From January 1997 to January 2000 Leo Fernandez had his highest Elo rating of 2320. Fernández lives in Massachusetts .

Elo development

Poker career

In addition to chess, Fernández also plays poker and began to be more involved with the game in 2004. Since 2005 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments . He made his first major win in October 2009 when he finished fifth at the European Poker Tour (EPT) high roller event in London and received the equivalent of more than $ 150,000 in prize money. When High Roller of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas reached Fernández in January 2011 the second place and his highest ever prize money won US dollars amounting to more than 550,000.

In total, Fernández has earned more than two million US dollars with poker in live tournaments. He was part of Team PokerStars under the nickname LeoFernandez until January 2020 .
