Leo Schoenberg

Leo Schönberg (born April 11, 1928 in Polch ; † March 23, 2015 there ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1947, Schönberg began studying law and economics at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz , completing the first state examination in 1951 and the second in 1955. He entered the civil service, initially worked at the Koblenz Regional Court and was appointed Regional Court Counselor there in 1959. In 1965 he moved to the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz . Here he received his appointment to the higher regional judge in 1966. In 1971 he became Senate President and Presiding Judge at the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz.

Political party

Schönberg joined the CDU in 1947 and was elected chairman of the CDU district association Mayen in 1958 .

MP

Schönberg had been a councilor of the Polch community since 1956 and was later elected to the district council. He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1979 to 1987.

Public offices

From 1988 to 1990, Schönberg was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .
