Leon Wegner

Leon Wegner (born March 31, 1824 in Posen ; † July 9, 1873 ibid) was a lawyer, economist, historian and politician of the Polish population group in the Prussian province of Posen .

Life

Leon Wegner studied law in Breslau until 1849 . He then worked as a lawyer and then became legal advisor and syndic of the archbishop's general consistory in Poznan. He was co-founder and first general secretary of the Polish Society of Friends of Science , member of the board of directors of the Society for Scientific Aid and author of several political and historical publications.

From 1854 to 1855 and from 1863 to 1873 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He was also a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation in 1867 for the constituency of Bromberg 5 ( Gnesen , Wongrowitz ) . He belonged to the Polish parliamentary group .
