Leonard Byrd
Leonard Byrd (born March 17, 1975 in Fort Rocker , Alabama ) is a former American sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .
The supposed greatest success of his career was the victory with the US 4-by-400-meter relay at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton . Leonard Byrd, Antonio Pettigrew , Derrick Brew and Angelo Taylor relegated the seasons from the Bahamas and Jamaica to their places in 2: 57.54 minutes . In 2008, however, the Americans lost their medals because Antonio Pettigrew had been proven doping .
Leonard Byrd's best international individual results over 400 m include third places at the Goodwill Games 2001 and the IAAF Grand Prix Final 2002 as well as reaching the semi-finals at the 2001 World Championships.
Leonard Byrd had a competition weight of 71 kg with a height of 1.81 m.
