Leonard Lamensdorf

Leonard "Len" Russell Lamensdorf (born June 22, 1930 in Chicago , Illinois , United States ) is an American writer . He mainly writes historical novels and books for young people .

Live and act

Leonard Lamensdorf was born in Chicago in 1930 to Maurice and Gertrude Lamensdorf. In 1948 he graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts and then worked until 1952 as chief of staff for the Law Review of the University of Chicago. In 1952 he received the Juris Doctor from Harvard University ; until 1953 he was a research fellow at the American Law Institute . He then worked as a lawyer and in the real estate industry. In 1977 he was admitted to the bar in the state of California .

In 1968 his first book Kane's world was published. A novel that was also translated into German. For the film Cornbread, Earl and Me , which was made into a film by Joseph Manduke in 1975 , he wrote the screenplay and worked as an executive producer . Several of his books have received awards.

In the late 1990s he founded in Santa Barbara , California, the publishing house "SeaScape Press", who is now based in Westlake Village has.

Leonard Lamensdorf has been married for the third time since 1997; he has a son from the first marriage. He lives in Westlake Village.
