Thorsten Puschmann (born June 14, 1962 ) is a German soldier, Brigadier General of the Army of the Bundeswehr and, since October 1, 2019, project leader of the working group for the implementation of the results of the investigation of the procurement and usage organization in the Federal Ministry of Defense.

Military career

Training and first uses

Puschmann joined the German Armed Forces in 1982 as a recruit at Repair Battalion 11 in Delmenhorst . From 1982 to 1984 he completed his training as an officer in the repair troop . After studying at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg , he worked from 1988 to 1992 as a platoon leader , maintenance officer and company commander in the 11 repair battalion in Delmenhorst and Varel. He was then transferred to the Technical School of the Army in Aachen , where he was employed from 1992 to 1996 as a lecture hall director in the officer candidate course and as a staff officer S3 . Service as a staff officer

Service as a general

On February 1, 2017, Puschmann became the successor of Brigadier General Erich Könen , head of combat at the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr in Koblenz . In this post, Puschmann was promoted to Brigadier General in April 2017. On October 1, 2019, Puschmann was assigned the task of the project manager of the working group to implement the results of the investigation into the procurement and usage organization of the Bundeswehr in the Federal Ministry of Defense.

Puschmann is married and has two daughters.
