Peter Eickenboom

Peter Eickenboom (born December 13, 1942 in Bonn ) is a German administrative lawyer. From 2002 to 2007 he was State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Defense .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1962, he studied law , political science and history from 1962 to 1974 . In 1967 he passed his first state examination and in 1971 his second state examination. He is also a political scientist with a doctorate.

Eickenboom is a member of the SPD . At the same time he was involved in the Catholic Church. For years he was chairman of the parish council of St. Johann Baptist and Petrus in Bonn.

From 1971 to 1976 he was a research assistant in the administration of the German Bundestag and from 1976 to 1981 he was a personal advisor to the Bundestag President and Bundestag Vice- President Annemarie Renger . From 1981 Peter Eickenboom held various management positions in the Bundestag administration and was a. a. from 1983 to 1989 head of the secretariat of the budget committee.

In 1998 he was appointed director of the German Bundestag by Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse . Defense Minister Peter Struck appointed Eickenboom as State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Defense on November 4, 2002 . At the end of 2007, Eickenboom retired.

Eickenboom is married and has one child.
