Harro Semmler
Harro Semmler (born November 29, 1947 in Hamburg ) was director of the German Bundestag from 2010 to 2012 .
Life
Semmler studied law in Bonn and Lausanne and did his legal clerkship at the Aachen Regional Court . In 1980 he joined the Bundestag administration as a consultant to the Defense Commissioner of the German Bundestag . He later held several posts in the field of mandate services and central services of the Bundestag administration. Before being appointed director of the German Bundestag, he was head of the parliament department and a member of the Bundestag administration. On August 1, 2010, he was appointed State Secretary and Director of the German Bundestag. He retired at the end of 2012.
