Helmut Schellknecht

Helmut Schellknecht (born August 14, 1919 in Lahde ; † October 1, 1994 in Bonn ) was a German administrative lawyer and director at the German Bundestag .

Life

Born the son of a line supervisor, Schellknecht went to high school and was called up for military service in 1940 . During the Second World War he was seriously wounded in Russia in 1942 and began studying law in Münster and Tübingen . In 1946 he passed his exams and became Dr. iur. PhD . After completing his legal traineeship in 1949, he went to the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications in 1950 and became head of a larger post office . In 1956 he was transferred to the Ministry of Defense , where he initially worked as a personnel officer and then was responsible for building up the training system in the Bundeswehr administration for all official channels of administration and defense technology . Among other things, he organized the establishment of the Bundeswehr Administration Schools , the Academy for Defense Administration and Defense Technology and the central management of the entire examination system. He was also responsible for managing apprenticeships in the Bundeswehr and training German military engineers in the USA , England and France . In 1962 he became the publisher and editor-in-chief of the educational papers for the Bundeswehr administration . In 1968 he was in the rank of ministerial director and senior civil servant in the office of the Defense Commissioner of the German Bundestag Matthias Hoogen . In 1970 he became director of the German Bundestag . In 1984 he retired. Shortly after it was founded in 1982, he became a member of the Trier fraternity Germania .
