Lorenz Müller (lawyer)
Lorenz Müller is a German administrative lawyer and political official . Since August 1, 2020, he has been the director of the German Bundestag in the status of a state secretary .
Life and career
Müller began his career in the Bundestag administration in 1996 and began as a consultant in the secretariat of the study commission "Future of the media in business and society - Germany's path to the information society". He then worked for the scientific services of the Bundestag and in the secretariat of the parliamentary control body. In 2010 he took over the management of the presidential office and, from 2015, the management of the press and communication department . Until the doctorate in law was appointed State Secretary and Director of the German Bundestag by Bundestag President Wolfgang Schäuble on August 1, 2020 , he was head of the Science and External Relations department in the Bundestag administration. In a meeting on May 13, 2020, the Presidium of the German Bundestag decided in favor of Müller as the successor to the retired director Horst Risse .
