From October until the end of the season he played a total of eleven times for the little lions .

Proud went to the US to play college soccer . For the George Mason Patriots, the college team at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia , he completed 18 games and scored 4 goals. After this strong season he moved to the UCLA Bruins in Los Angeles, California . Over the next three years, the midfielder scored 20 goals in 63 games. He even led the team as captain at times. At the end of the 2014 season he received the Hermann Trophy, the highest honor for college soccer players. He is the first German player to receive this award.

New York Red Bulls

On January 15, 2015, Stolz was selected by the New York Red Bulls in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft and signed a contract two days later. At first, Stolz did not want to participate in the MLS Draft, as only teams from New York or Los Angeles were eligible. In addition, Stolz did not want to sign a contract with Major League Soccer, but instead wanted to be employed directly by the respective franchise. After talks with Red Bull, however, he was convinced and was signed directly by RBNY. He played his first game for the Red Bulls on February 5, 2015 in a friendly against the Jacksonville Armada .

However, Stolz started the 2015 season with the New York Red Bulls II, which play in the United Soccer League . In the very first game, on March 28, 2015 against the Rochester Rhinos , he led the team onto the field as captain. He scored his first goal on April 4, 2015.

In December 2015 it was announced that Stolz was not in the Red Bulls' squad for the 2016 season.

Return to Germany

At the beginning of 2016, Stolz returned to Germany and continued his studies in Frankfurt am Main. He declined an offer from Los Angeles Galaxy for a trial training session. Stolz has withdrawn from active football.
