Leonhard Grebner

Leonhard Grebner (born May 6, 1694 in Würzburg , † September 2, 1742 in Bamberg ) was a German Jesuit and university teacher .

Life

Grebner began studying philosophy at the University of Würzburg on December 1, 1708 and passed his master's degree in 1711 . In 1711 he entered the service of the Jesuit order in Mainz . In 1714 he began studying theology and canon law . He passed the exam for Lic. Theol. He also obtained the degree of Dr. iur. can. On November 5, 1723 he was sworn in as a full professor of philosophy at the University of Heidelberg . There he was dean of the philosophical faculty in 1725 .

Grebner went to Baden-Baden in 1726 . There he made his profession on August 15, 1727 . He later went to Würzburg University as a professor of theology and Hebrew language. From 1732 to 1738 he taught canon law in Bamberg.
