Leonhard Holzberger
Leonhard Holzberger (born December 7, 1900 in Nuremberg , † September 5, 1987 in Marktredwitz ) was a German economist and local politician.
Career
Holzberger studied economics at the Friedrich Alexander University . In 1926 he was reciprocated in the Corps Bavaria Erlangen . He was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. As a candidate for the Free Voters of Bavaria and supported by the CSU, he was elected Lord Mayor of the then independent city of Marktredwitz in 1952. He stayed in office until 1970. During his term of office, the reconstruction and an enormous increase in the population fall. From 1952 a new school center with secondary schools was built. The non-profit housing association (GEWOG) was founded in 1955 for social housing. In 1963 the Otto Hahn Gymnasium (Marktredwitz) was rebuilt, and in 1969 the new hospital building began operations.

- Honorary Citizen of Marktredwitz, for his services to housing, school construction and urban planning (April 29, 1970)
