Leonhard von Stryk

Leonhard von Stryk ( Russian Леонард фон Штрик ; January 22, jul. / 3. February  1834 greg. , † 1882 in Dresden ) was a Baltic German historian and author.

Life

Stryk came from the Livonian noble family von Stryk . His parents were the Livonian district administrator and president of the Livonian consistory Wilhelm von Stryk (* 1803) and Eleonora von Mensenkampff (* 1798, † 1876).

Stryk studied at the University of Tartu 1853-1856 Law . After graduation he was first second, from 1867 to 1882 first secretary of the Estonian district management of the Livonian credit association. In 1876 he had married Amalie Aline von Fölkersahm (* 1850; † 1914). In 1882 he moved the center of his life to Dresden and was no longer a member of the Livonian knighthood .
