Leoni Wirth (born August 6, 1935 in Dresden ; † August 9, 2012 in Berlin ) was a German sculptor and architect. She mainly created glass designs and water features .

Leoni Wirth initially studied architecture for two years at the TH Dresden and from 1954 to 1959 sculpture at the Dresden University of Fine Arts , among others with Walter Arnold and Hans Steger .

Wirth lived and worked until around 2005 in the studio house she designed and built in 1964 on Karpatenstrasse 21 in the Rochwitz district of Dresden . From 1990 until she left Dresden, she was committed to animal welfare .

Her most famous work, the dandelion fountain consisting of five fountains on Prager Strasse in Dresden, was reduced to the three smaller fountains in 2004 after the redesign. Leoni Wirth protested against this, since in her opinion this constitutes a violation of copyright law. The other parts were restored, completed and installed on Albert-Wolf-Platz in Prohlis by Alexander Bergmann, whose grandfather Karl Bergmann had already worked on the original in 1970 . The Wirth wind vane had been in place in the “Prohlis new development area” since the 1980s, and was dismantled and stored in 2016.

The bowl fountain on Prager Straße was only in operation until the flood in 2002. It is planned to re-erect it 500 meters away from its original location on Dippoldiswalder Platz as part of a new promenade ring.
