Leonid Dobychin

Leonid Dobychin ( Russian Леонид Иванович Добычин * June 5 . Jul / 17th June  1894 greg. In Ludza , Vitebsk ; † 25. March 1936 or later in Leningrad ()?) Was an avant-garde imputed Russian prose writer .

Life

Dobychin was the son of a doctor and a midwife. He grew up in Dünaburg and was given the opportunity to do his Abitur. He left a comparatively narrow work behind which he came into conflict with the official literature of the Soviet Union , whose vision of the future he could not make his program. His novel Die Stadt N. , which is now regarded as an encyclopedia of life in Dvinsk / Dünaburg / Daugavpils at the beginning of the 20th century, was described as "formalistic" by Stalinist criticism. After a meeting of the Leningrad Writers' Union at which this charge was discussed, Dobychin disappeared on March 26, 1936. He left a friend with a letter asking him to use the money enclosed with the letter to pay off some debts because he was leaving "far away". No one has heard from him since; his body was never found.
