Leonid Solovyov ( Russian Леонид Васильевич Соловьёв , scientific. Transliteration Leonid Solovyev Vasil'evič ; August * 6. jul. / 19th August  1906 greg. In Tripoli , Lebanon ; † 9. April 1962 in Leningrad ) was a Russian writer and screenwriter.

biography

Solovyov was born as the son of an official in the Tsarist diplomatic service in Lebanon, then still part of Syria . In 1909 the family returned; she lived in Samarkand Governorate , which is now part of Uzbekistan . Solovyov himself stayed in the Central Asian region until 1931, worked in various professions (journalist, Russian teacher) and collected local folk poetry in the Ferghana Valley . In 1932 he graduated from the Soviet State Cinematographic Institute at the Faculty of Screenwriting. During World War II he was a war correspondent for the fleet. From 1946 to 1954 he sat in the gulag , including in the DubrawLag special camp , or lived in exile. After his release he lived in Leningrad.

Works

Solovyov's most popular work by far is the "Tale by Hodscha Nasreddin" (Певесорж Неарованный принц) consisting of the two parts The Troublemaker (Возмутитель спокойствия) and The Enchanted Prince (Очарованный принц). In the novel, Solovyov deals with the taunts from the life of Nasreddin that have been handed down in Islamic narrative tradition .
