Leopold Green

Leopold Grün (born October 15, 1968 in Dresden ) is a German documentary filmmaker .

Life

In 1989 he passed a state examination for teachers in the GDR , studied social and media education in Munich from 1990 to 1995 and social and political science at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1996 to 1998 . In 2001 he graduated from the Technical University of Berlin as a media consultant.

Video documentary since 1993. He created video installations and wrote texts for films. In 1999 he became managing director of the Berlin Youth Film Television Institute . He was one of the organizers of the Emergeandsee short film festival in Berlin. Since 1996 he has been working as a media educator at FSF Berlin (including DVD-Rom War in the Media ). In 2007 he presented his first feature-length film with the documentary The Red Elvis , a biography of the American actor and singer Dean Reed , who lived from 1972 to lived in the GDR after his death in 1986.

From 2017 to 2019 Grün was managing director of the branch association AG Verleih . Since January 16, 2020 he has been managing director of Vision Kino .
