Leopold von Görne

Carl Leopold von Görne (born November 30, 1715 in Gollwitz , † November 13, 1769 ) was a Prussian civil servant and castle owner.

Live and act

Leopold von Görne's parents were Friedrich von Görne and his second wife Eleonora Lucia von Stockhausen. In 1744 he married Sophie Wilhelmine Charlotte von Wülcknitz (1725–1806), daughter of the Court Marshal von Wülcknitz.

From 1724 to September 1726 Leopold von Görne attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg . In 1728 he was named as a student at the Joachimsthal Gymnasium . Leopold von Gorne studied at the University of Halle law . After graduating, he traveled to France, among other places .

After his return he first became an auscultator at the General Board of Directors . From 1739 he was a war and domain councilor at the Kurmärkischen chambers , a position that he took over from his brother Friedrich. In March 1744 Leopold von Görne received the title of Privy Councilor . In 1763 he was promoted to second chamber director .

From 1745 he was the heir to Plaue as the owner of the Plaue Castle , which he had inherited from his father . Leopold von Görne had the palace gardens remodeled and expanded. In 1765 he sold the castle to Heinrich Wilhelm von Anhalt for 160,000 thalers .
