Leopold von Schuhmann

Leopold Schuhmann (since 1880 von Schuhmann ) (born January 27, 1815 in Grünberg , Province of Silesia , † October 4, 1886 ) was a Prussian civil servant. Most recently he was Undersecretary of State in the State Ministry .

Life

He was the son of the businessman David Schuhmann (?? - 1840) in Grünberg. Leopold Schuhmann entered the Prussian civil service as an ausculator in 1835 . In 1841 he was an assessor at the Supreme Court . In 1849 he was appointed government councilor in the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1856 he became a secret auditor but remained a laborer in the Ministry of Agriculture.

In 1859 Schuhmann was appointed a secret government councilor and a member of the Central Commission for Rentenbanks. In 1862 he was promoted to the Secret Upper Government Council and appointed a member of the State Economics College. Since 1868 Schuhmann was a member of the Prussian State Council . In 1869 he became director general of direct taxes with the rank of ministerial director in the Ministry of Finance. Since July 1874 he was Undersecretary of State in the State Ministry.

In addition, Schuhmann was President of the Disciplinary Court for non-judicial officials between 1873/74 and 1877. He was also a member of the Court of Justice from 1873 to 1877 to resolve conflicts of jurisdiction. In 1876, Schuhmann resigned from active civil service with the title of a Real Secret Councilor with the title "Excellence". From 1879 he was chairman of the regional economics college. Schuhmann had been a member of the Prussian manor house since 1872 .

Outside of his official duties, he was a member of the Monday Club and the Outlaw Society .

Schuhmann was a Real Privy Councilor and Undersecretary of State a. D. raised to the Prussian nobility on February 29, 1880 in Berlin .
