Life

Sicka comes from a social democratic family and attended elementary school in her home district of Favoriten. Then she worked as a laborer, later as a fitter. She became a youth leader and a functionary of the KJVÖ in the 10th, 11th and 12th districts of Vienna. As a member of the resistance group " The Soldiers' Council ", she was involved in the design and production of a "Russia map" that was sent to thousands of soldiers. It shows the viewer that Hitler cannot win the war against the Soviet Union. She was arrested on June 5, 1942 and remained in the dungeon of the Vienna Gestapo headquarters on Morzinplatz until October 1943 . On October 12, 1943, she had to answer before the so-called People's Court for “preparation for high treason ”, together with Anna Gräf , Franz Sikuta and Karl Mann .

Sicka tried to avoid the death penalty by citing her age and alleged personal motives as grounds for mitigation. Nevertheless, she and her three co-defendants were sentenced to death on the grounds: "Anyone who is fighting and bleeding in the war while the soldier is fighting and bleeding at the front and the homeland gives as much sacrifice and strength to support this fight of the soldiers," seeks to destroy the unity of the front and home must fall. "

Sicka was on 11 January 1944 in the Regional Court of Vienna by the guillotine executed.
