Waldemar Lesner (born April 18, 1967 in Danzig ) is a Polish-German volleyball player and coach.
Career
Waldemar Lesner played volleyball in his Polish homeland in the 1980s. In 1989 the middle blocker moved to the German Bundesliga for Hamburger SV and was voted “Newcomer of the Year” in his first season. Waldemar Lesner received German citizenship and later played for league rivals VfB Friedrichshafen , SCC Berlin ( DVV Cup victory in 1996), VC Eintracht Mendig and TSV Bad Saulgau . During this time he was represented several times in the rankings of German volleyball in the serve and block categories.
Waldemar Lesner played for the Polish national team between 1982 and 1988 . Today he is a trainer in Austria for the Hypo Tirol volleyball team Innsbruck . Waldemar Lesner has two children (Fabian and Nicole).
