Let's Get It On ( English for Let's do it ) is the twelfth Music Album of the US singer Marvin Gaye , which was published by Tamla Motown on August 28 1973rd The recordings for the album took place between June 1970 and July 1973 in headquarters in the Motown Recording Studios in Detroit and in the Mowest Studios in Los Angeles . Jason Ankeny referred to the album on allmusic as

Let's Get It On received positive reviews from critics. Billboard named the album
"Fine in terms of vocal attack and material [...] touches on the excellent in terms of instrumental support."

The song Distant Lover was named the best song on the album. Rolling Stone 's Jon Landau named Gaye's performance on par with his work on What's Going On and wrote:
