Leteln is a district and a district of the city of Minden in the Minden-Lübbecke district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1973 Leteln was a municipality in what was then the Minden district .

Leteln is located in the northeast of the Minden urban area on the right bank of the Weser and north of the Mittelland Canal . The northern part of the district is used for agriculture. The former municipality had an area of ​​3.48 km².

history

The first written mention of Leteln comes from a document of the Minden Bishop Sigebert from the 11th century. Historically, the place belonged to the Principality of Minden . Since the 19th century Leteln was a municipality in the Windheim zu Lahde district of the Minden district in the Minden administrative district of the Prussian province of Westphalia . By the Bielefeld Act , Leteln was incorporated into the city of Minden on January 1, 1973, where it now belongs to the Leteln-Aminghausen district.
