The Brinkamahof lighthouse is a lighthouse in Bremerhaven . It was built on the Wurster Watt in 1910/1911 and has been in a Bremerhaven marina at Fischereihafen II since 1980 , where it serves as a residential building and bar.
history
The Brinkamahof lighthouse was built in 1910 and 1911 using a steel ring construction, because this made it possible to move it again later. This was necessary because of the very rapidly changing course of the current in the mouth of the Weser . Its visual similarity to the Roter Sand lighthouse soon earned it the nickname “Little Red Sand”. The construction of the lighthouse is to be seen in close connection with the construction of the Imperial Ports II and III in Bremerhaven and the associated installation of navigation systems. It was located north of the city of Bremerhaven, near the town of Weddewarden . In 1912 it was put into operation as a guide and cross mark light and in 1939 it was included as a lower light in the Weddewarden leading light line . In 1979 it was to make way for the northern extension of the Bremerhaven container wharf , which happened in August 1980. The lighthouse was given to the operator of a boat harbor and brought to its new location by means of a floating crane , a yacht harbor in Bremerhaven.
